Radio on the Lake Theatre, Northeast Ohio's only professional theater company exclusively dedicated to the audio arts, is proud to present a monthly live radio play series in the heart of Cleveland! The Audio Gallery Series spotlights classic and contemporary audio drama with actors and sound effects artists bringing some of the most beloved scripts to life.

March 28 at 6 pm - Rebecca and The Birds: An Audio Deconstruction

It’s a double dose of Alfred Hitchcock - and author Daphne Du Maurier! Radio on the Lake Theatre celebrates the golden age of radio drama and takes a look into the future with these two plays. The first half of the evening is devoted to the Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of Rebecca. A shy young woman marries a dashing, but mysterious older man obsessed by the memory of his glamorous first wife. We then present ROTLT’s original adaptation of The Birds. This “audio deconstruction” strips the play down to the bare essentials of actors and sound in a production first presented as part of Cleveland Public Theatre’s Soft Launch program in January 2025.

The plays will be performed at the Dunham Tavern Museum at 6709 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, and will be followed by a discussion with the cast, crew and special guests. It will also be recorded for broadcast on WBWC 88.3 The Sting at a later date as part of ROTLT's ongoing series Radio on the Lake Theatre Presents... Sunday evenings at 5.

Tickets are on sale through Eventbrite and members of ROTLT's Stakeholders Club will receive $5 off each ticket!

The Audio Gallery Series is made possible by grants from the Ohio Arts Council and The Cleveland Foundation.
