Radio on the Lake Theatre began as Arts Radio Network, an all-podcast website telling the stories of local artists. One discipline in particular is close to the heart of Managing and Artistic Director Caroline Breder-Watts - the art of filmmaking. Caroline has been watching, reading about and studying film most of her life, and sharing her passion in numerous ways. She is the host and producer of Listening to Movies, a radio program about film music. Listening to Movies airs on Sundays at 5:30 pm on WBWC 88.3 FM. She also created and hosted the Ideastream Passport Movie for Ideastream Public Media for several years, and is the host and producer of Radio on the Lake Theatre’s newest podcast Reel Pages. Reel Pages is a monthly program featuring conversations with authors of books on films. Reel Pages is available on Spotify and SoundCloud.
Caroline utilizes clips from classic cinema to create programs illuminating the history of race in the United States, the evolution of women’s rights and changes in the treatment of mental health issues, among others. She also sits on many screening committees, leads seminars, and has worked with the following organizations:
Arts Garage
Columbus Moving Picture Show (formerly Cinevent)
Fellowship of Christians and Jews
Florida Stage
Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival
Humphrey Bogart Film Festival
Ideastream Public Media
